The Malone Family Foundation has set the following timeline for reviewing grant opportunities (updated as of November 2012):

Event Timeframe Description
Initial Approach
After reading the Grant Making Guidelines to ensure eligibility, applicant submits a Letter of Inquiry via this link.
Invitation to Propose
Within 15 Business Days of receipt of Letter of Inquiry*
An invitation will be extended to submit an official Grant Application or a Letter of Denial is sent to the applicant via email.
Application Deadlines
November 15 is the preferred deadline for the Letter of Inquiry and December 15 is the preferred deadline for the Application*
The official Grant Application Form must be returned to the Foundation by certain dates. These deadlines exist to give Staff and Trustees time to review the applications and conduct site visits if necessary.
Trustees Meeting
First week of February
Trustees meet to review grant opportunities.
Grant Notification
Within 3 Business Days of Trustees Meeting
Applicant is notified of the decision.
Disbursement of Funds
Within 5 Business Days of receipt of signed Grant Approval Contract
Approved applicants will receive funds once the Foundation has received a signed Grant Approval Contract.
Grantee Reporting
As set forth in the Grant Approval Contract
Grantees who receive funding are required to submit a Grant Progress Report and Final Grant Report as set forth in the Grant Approval Contract.
*We have just implemented an online grant submission and monitoring system in January 2013. Submissions for the February 2013 decision can be accepted until the end of January 2013. Please feel free to call us for any updates.
